Welcome to the September Newsletter

The big theme this month is the Superannuation changes. The Government in its wisdom is tinkering around the edges yet again. The whole purpose of the Superannuation scheme introduced by Paul Keating, the then treasurer in the nineties, was to provide each of us with enough money for our retirement in 30 years time and eventually taking the strain off the Government pension. The now massive super fund Industry has become a feeding ground for fund managers and the Government to use to balance the Budget. This month we summarise the changes and how it affects us all.

Brian Thomas from Perennial looks at Australian Shares and how their fluctuation and volatility are driving the market.

Michael Collins discusses China's debt fuelled economy and some of the long term implications.

Finally, we see how the herd mentality is alive and well when we invest and how social proof is so important when the herd make decisions.

I am only a phone call or email away if you would like to set-up a meeting with me to review your personal Financial Plan and to ensure that you are on track with ensuring that your family is adequately protected in terms of Risk Insurance, your Mortgage Facility remains competitive and you have an updated Family Will.

Kind Regards
