Welcome to the June Newsletter

We are now approaching the end of the financial year. Tax strategies are being implemented. We are all making payments and buying 'stuff' in June to take advantage of tax deductions for this financial year. Interest rates are at a historic low in Australia and it seems that property investors are taking advantage of it in droves. We are seeing record real-estate prices particularly in pockets of Sydney and Melbourne.

This month we examine how long they can continue to rise. There is talk that property will continue to rise albeit at a slower rate. Others like the OECD are forecasting a more dramatic correction.

We also have an interesting look at property from the eyes of a property investor and what Real Estate Agents don’t tell you by Graham Hand who is editor of Cuffelinks.

Finally, just when you think Europe may be getting back to normal Michael Collins from Fidelity explains how Greece is about to blow up.

It also may be time to review any insurances you hold in industry super funds as premiums are increasing and definitions changing due to claims increasing.

If you would like to review your existing Risk Insurance Portfolio, please contact me on (02) 8969-6970 or gordon@taurusfinancial.com.au to ensure that you and family remain adequately protected at all times.

A reminder to make sure that you make your Superannuation Contributions before 30 June 2015.

The concessional (deductible) contributions cap is $35,000 for individuals age 49 years or over on 30 June 2014 and $30,000 for all other individuals.

We hope you enjoy this months read and we will see you in the next financial year.

Have a great month
